“The mindset isn’t about seeking a result—it’s more about the process of getting to that result. It’s about the journey and the approach. It’s a way of life. I do think that it’s important, in all endeavors, to have that mentality.” – Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bryant, one of the greatest basketball players of all-time, was known for his relentless effort in continuously improving himself until he stood out against the competition. Kobe religious preached maximizing your potential and continuously improving your skills as you aim to accomplish your goals. For example, when Kobe played for Team USA Basketball, he called one of the coaching staff at 4:15 a.m. to work on some conditioning. When the staff member made it to the practice floor, he said he saw Kobe drenched in sweat, evident that he was training before everyone else woke up. Examples like these show how Kobe worked hard to make himself better than everyone else. Sadly, he’s no longer here with us, but his legacy and his mamba mentality continue to influence everyone to work hard and be better than they were yesterday. No matter what grade, profession, industry, etc. you’re in, always strive to be better than you were yesterday. You’ll make mistakes, sure, but you’ll improve if you learn from those mistakes. Remember to think about your goals and strive to work continuously towards achieving them as Kobe did. Strive to have the mamba mentality!
